Writer's Workshop
Learning to think like a writer is big stuff in room H-6. We've begun a new genre of writing called Personal Narratives. This is such an exciting time as our writers learn how to develop the details of a "small moment" in their lives with a beginning, middle, and end.

Reader's Workshop
Reading for meaning is what our Jolly Roger Pirates will learn to do during Reader's Workshop. They will build their stamina of reading and strive to understand that readers "think" about their reading by developing comprehension and decoding strategies that support the reading process. They are so excited to get their "reading wrinkles"!

Counting Collections
We are developing mathematicians in room H-6 with Counting Collections Friday's! Counting collections provides our mathematicians opportunities to develop efficient counting strategies, to strategically group objects, and record their mathematical thinking. What a fun way for our brains to learn!

Our World
The Jolly Roger Pirates of room H-6 will travel the world building new schema about our continents, our country, our state, and city. These pirates will deepen their understanding of the important role they have as citizens in this beautiful place we call EARTH.
